A new project this spring.

Getting fresh water to wash the produce...A produce washing station...what I always wanted!

Did someone say flash flood ?

June 1st we woke up to this!

We tried to use logs to divert the water.

Highlights and lowlights this spring

The onions came along beautifully! And we were able to get in the garden shortly after Easter, mid-April. The early cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli is going in the ground.

Potatoes were put in very early.

Then came a BIG wind storm, May 8th...  It pulled the greenhouse anchors out of the ground and over went all the plants!

Thankfully most were salvageable. But many were droopy looking and needed some tender care.

We were able to get the tomatoes in the ground the middle of May.

I have a great little helper!! Two of them in fact but one isn't so little :)

Then came our first wash out. This is a newly tilled and planted area of popcorn. Needless to say we lost a few rows.

More planted...here the sweet potatoes are planted under black plastic. They like a hot humid environment, so this is our way of creating it for them.
