Tonight we worked on making sweet potato ridges or mounds and laying black plastic over them to warm the soil.
We lay a soaking hose underneath the plastic so we are able to water.
Here Evan is using the wheel hoe with the furrowing attachment to put dirt over the edges of plastic. This will keep the plastic in place. The sweet potatoes like a very warm soil and climate, so the plastic will stay in place the entire season and we will plant the sweet potatoes through it.
